In addition to providing electric power, NIPSCO
is also the largest natural gas supplier in Indiana. It provides service
to 2.3 million people in northern Indiana and covers a 14,000 square-mile
territory. NIPSCO purchases gas from five pipelines and has supply arrangements
with 17 producers. The company’s natural gas rates are considered
very attractive to customers in St. Joseph County, Indiana in comparison
with other locations in the Midwest.
