Local, regional and state officials, in an effort to identify a common
profiling and assessment system that is equally meaningful to employers,
educators and individuals, have chosen to utilize the WorkKeys
system developed by ACT (American College Testing, Inc.).
Locally, St. Joseph County schools and businesses have agreed
to utilize the WorkKeys program as a common tool to profile specific
jobs, to assess an individual's work skills, and to design training
programs and educational curriculum.
Companies that are expanding operations in the St. Joseph County
area will find all public assistance programs are moving toward a full
integration of the WorkKeys system into their evaluation and service delivery
operations. Similarly, private
sector human resource training entities are adopting WorkKeys into their
programs as well.

Instructional Support
The instructional support component helps educators and trainers tailor
instruction to improve skills of students and workers.
